Getting there without driving
Walter Reed is the longest drive of the DC-area duty stations from Bowie, so the train is worth a look. Take the MARC Penn Line from Bowie State to Washington Union Station, then the Red Line toward Shady Grove to Medical Center. The station is directly across Rockville Pike from the base. Cross the Pike and swipe in at the pedestrian turnstiles.
