Yorktown Elementary School: Facts, Programs and Boundaries

Yorktown Elementary on Race Track Road serves kindergarten through grade 5 with a 7:30 a.m. bell. Here is what PGCPS publishes and how to confirm a house is zoned to it.

Yorktown Elementary starts at 7:30 a.m. and lets out at 1:45 p.m. on its posted schedule, one of the earliest elementary days in Bowie. If you commute to DC or Fort Meade, that afternoon pickup time is the first thing to plan around, and the school lists before and after care on site.

The school is at 7301 Race Track Road. Yorktown is also the name of one of Levitt's Belair sections, built between 1964 and 1968, but sharing a name does not mean a house in that section is assigned here. Below are the published facts, no ratings.

Which addresses are zoned to Yorktown?

Elementary boundaries are the most finely drawn lines in PGCPS, and they were redrawn after the Board vote of November 10, 2022. A boundary can split a single street. Enter the exact house number in the PGCPS School Finder and save a dated screenshot. Questions go to PGCPS School Boundaries at 301-952-6300 or school.boundaries@pgcps.org.

How do I read Yorktown's state report card?

On the Maryland School Report Card site, choose Prince George's County and search "Yorktown." Elementary schools are scored on academic achievement, academic progress, English language proficiency progress, and school quality and student success. The percentage of points earned becomes one to five stars, with five stars at 75% or more and four at 60% or more.

The 2024 to 2025 results were released November 4, 2025. MSDE has said a new rating system may arrive in 2026 to 2027, so read the indicator detail and compare Yorktown with nearby elementaries side by side rather than relying on a single star count.
