Foxhill, Bowie: One of Levitt's First Five Sections
F streets, 1960s Levitt houses, City water and a 7 day median on market in 2026, the fastest of any Bowie section with ten or more sales.
Foxhill homes sold in a median of 7 days in Bright MLS data, April to September 2026, tied for the fastest of any Bowie neighborhood with at least ten sales, at a $500,000 median across 10 closings. If you want a house here, the decision window is about a week.
Foxhill is one of the five original Levitt sections of Belair at Bowie, and like every Belair section its streets share a first letter. Farris Lane is Foxhill; if the street starts with F and sits in Belair, you are almost certainly in the section.
Where is Foxhill?
The Historic American Buildings Survey places the first five sections (Somerset, Buckingham, Kenilworth, Foxhill and Tulip Grove) on land bounded by Route 50 on the south, MD 197 (Collington Road) on the west, MD 450 (Annapolis Road) on the north and Crain Highway on the east. That puts Foxhill a short drive from the Route 50 and MD 197 interchanges, which matters for anyone commuting toward DC, Annapolis or north to Laurel and Fort Meade.
Foxhill is inside the City of Bowie and sits in City Council District 2, with Somerset, Kenilworth, Tulip Grove, Buckingham and Longridge.
When was it built, and what are the houses?
Levitt and Sons built the first five sections between 1960 and 1964. The six original models priced from $14,990 to $27,500 and ran 1,400 to 2,508 square feet: the Cape Cod, the Rancher, three and four bedroom Colonials, the Country Clubber and the rare Manor House. Original Levitt lots generally measured about 8,400 square feet.
In practice you will see Capes with dormers and rear additions, one-level Ranchers, and two-story Colonials, most with decades of updates. Our Levitt homes guide shows how to tell the models apart from the street.

Water, taxes and HOA
Foxhill is on the City of Bowie's own water and sewer system, listed by name in the City's service areas. Fiscal 2026 rates were $7.11 per thousand gallons for water and $10.20 for sewer, billed by the City. Ask a seller for a recent bill so you can estimate your own use.
There is no mandatory HOA in the original Levitt sections, so no dues and no HOA disclosure package. Inside city limits you pay the City tax, which goes from $0.40 to $0.58 per $100 for fiscal 2027, and you get twice weekly City trash pickup and Bowie Police. See Bowie property taxes explained.
Parks, pools and shopping nearby
Foxhill Park, run by M-NCPPC at 5001 Collington Road, covers 44.62 acres with ballfields, tennis and pickleball courts, basketball, a playground, picnic shelters and trail access. Belair Mansion, a free City museum at 12207 Tulip Grove Drive, is close by, as is the Belair Stable Museum.
For swimming, the private Belair Bath and Tennis Club at Belair Drive and Tulip Grove Drive dates to 1962. See our parks and recreation guide. Groceries and errands cluster along Annapolis Road and at Bowie Town Center south of Route 50 (dining and shopping guide).
Which schools serve this section?
Prince George's County Public Schools assigns every address by boundary, not by section name, and boundaries were redrawn in the county's recent boundary initiative. Enter the exact street address in the PGCPS School Finder and save a dated screenshot before you rely on it. If the tool cannot find the address, Pupil Accounting takes questions at school.boundaries@pgcps.org or 301-952-6300.
Benjamin Tasker Middle School, at 4901 Collington Road near Foxhill Park, is one of the PGCPS Talented and Gifted Center middle schools. TAG Center seats are by application and lottery, separate from your boundary assignment.
To compare schools, read each school's page on the Maryland School Report Card site from the Maryland State Department of Education, which publishes the star rating, assessment results, attendance and other measures by year. Our Bowie schools guide explains how to read it.
What should I inspect in a Foxhill house?
Every Foxhill house predates 1978, so expect the federal lead paint disclosure. Focus on original galvanized or cast iron plumbing, the electrical panel, slab moisture, older windows and whether additions were permitted. A camera scope of the sewer lateral is cheap insurance under mature trees.
