Three Bowie-area subdivisions share the Woodmore name, and none of them is the gated golf community around the Country Club at Woodmore. Here’s how to tell them apart: who built them, what the homes are like, the HOAs and the city line. Checked October 2026.

Woodmore North
Woodmore North was built as a gated community with a waterfall at the entrance. When it opened, all 226 homes were four-bedroom single-family models on one-acre homesites, with 11 floor plans from about 3,100 to more than 5,100 finished square feet. Woodmore North Boulevard is the main street.
It’s outside City of Bowie limits, so there’s no City property tax and the County handles trash. The HOA dues were $100 a month when it opened in 2010. Ask for the current figure in the HOA resale package before you make an offer.
Woodmore Highlands
Woodmore Highlands is an older section, with Colonials from the 1990s. A 2026 listing on Dunwood Ridge Terrace showed a 1996 Colonial on just over an acre, with HOA dues of $350 a year and the property shown inside City of Bowie limits. The HOA appears on the City’s list without a management company, which likely means volunteer homeowners run it.
Woodmore Estates
Woodmore Estates is the newest of the three, with single-family homes built in the mid-2000s on streets such as Derrick Court and Driftwood Road. The Woodmore Estates HOA is professionally managed. The City’s 2026 list and a 2021 County registration report name different management companies, so confirm who manages it now when you request the resale package. Dues weren’t published in a source we could confirm.
Before you buy in any of the three
- Get the HOA resale package early. Maryland gives you 5 calendar days after you receive it to cancel in writing. How Bowie HOAs work.
- Check the city line. It changes your tax bill, trash service and police.
- Check the ZIP. Addresses here can read Bowie or Mitchellville, and ZIP 20720 or 20721. Bowie vs. Mitchellville.
- Big lots mean bigger systems. Ask about the septic or sewer connection, well or public water, and the age of the roof and HVAC.
